Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
The Head of the Penjaringan Police, AKBP Febri Isman Jaya, explained the process of evacuating a positive patient with Covid-19 variant Omicron from Green Bay Pluit Apartment, North Jakarta to the Hospital Sulianti Suroso.
Initially, he stated that on Monday (27/12) night, his party received information from the District Health Center that there was an Omicron patient in Tower L of the Green Bay Apartment.
“We were contacted last night to assist the sub-district with the three pillars for the evacuation,” Febri told reporters, Tuesday (28/12).
However, according to him, due to time that did not allow, the evacuation was carried out on Tuesday morning. During the evacuation process, according to him, the patient was cooperative.
He denied the circulation of information stating that the patient refused to be evacuated.
“Regarding the problem of the patient refusing, it is not true. The patient is actually cooperative, he asks for time to take a shower, eat first. It’s confusing outside, he says the apartment is surrounded by the task force, the community, because the patient is not cooperative, even though he is cooperative,” he said.
Febri said the patient was evacuated on Tuesday around 11.00 WIB and immediately taken to the Sulianti Saroso Hospital.
“Actually, they were picked up last night just because the situation for the evacuation was late. I’m afraid we may must be sterile. We have to wear all kinds of PPE, right, we won’t pick them up,” he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Health found one case of local transmission of Covid-19, the Omicron variant. The patient lives in an apartment in North Jakarta.
“We convey that there is one case of Omicron local transmission in Indonesia, so that Tuesday, December 28, there were 47 positive confirmed cases of Omicron in Indonesia,” said Nadia.
