Jakarta –
Two ambulance found to be carrying passengers who want to travel when the one-way system or one way in Puncak, Bogor, was applied. The two ambulances turned out to be passenger cars.
“Both of these cars are passenger types,” said Head of Regident Unit of the Bogor Police Satlantas Iptu Danny Sutarman when contacted, Sunday (8/5/2022).
Danny said that an ordinary passenger car that is used as an ambulance must have a recommendation from the Head of the Body. Danny said the police would remove the car’s rotator because there was no recommendation to convert private vehicles into ambulances.
“So for ambulance vehicles, the type of vehicle will be changed in accordance with the recommendations issued by the Body of the Body. Later, the Head of Body will provide a recommendation that the vehicle has been converted to function or change the shape of the passenger car into an ambulance,” he said.
“So from there, we have seen that this does not have a regulation to become an ambulance car, so maybe we will remove the rotator. (It can’t be called an ambulance) yes,” he continued.

Danny explained that many ordinary cars have been transformed into impromptu ambulances since the COVID-19 pandemic. He said the impromptu ambulance was often used to transport patients who were not in urgent need.
“The (impromptu ambulance) trend has been rampant since the COVID-19 outbreak. The ambulance in Indonesia is in accordance with the existing law and is in accordance with the Body of the Body, and the equipment that is inside according to the Minister of Health’s Regulation is not adequate, so it is this impromptu ambulance which is actually only for transporting patients And the patients actually belong to the group that is not too urgent, not very urgent,” he explained.
