New facts were revealed in the investigation of the attack case carried out by John Kei et al. The police called the threat passing live Instagram by Nus Kei group or Agrapinus Rumatora became one of the triggers of the attack carried out by John Kei’s group.
“Is (the video) really circulating? Yes. Can it be a trigger? The answer may be yes, but it is a long series of events between the two groups,” said Director of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Reskrimum Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat told reporters at the Regional Police Headquarters Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Wednesday (1/7/2020).
Tubagus said the challenge video emerged after a land dispute between Nus Kei and John Kei. When the video appeared, Tubagus said, the John Kei group responded emotionally.
“Why did the IG appear, because there was a background, because he was reacted later by an emotional attitude to the circulation of the video,” Tubagus said.
Furthermore, Tubagus said that his party had evidence in the case of the vicious agreement, murder and destruction. WhatsApp’s message of threat from Nus Kei to John Kei is also one of the evidences that have been bagged by the police.
“All the series of evidence is there, from the start of telephone conversations from WA, there are various kinds that indicate that there is a conflict between the two people,” said Tubagus.
John Kei was arrested by the Metro Jaya Police Team on Sunday (6/21) night. John Kei was arrested on suspicion of assault on Nus Kei’s house in Green Lake City and the stabbing in Duri Kosambi, West Jakarta.
This dispute began with a conflict between John Kei and Nus Kei. John Kei felt betrayed in the distribution of land money in Ambon.
Until now police have arrested 39 suspects, including John Kei. Police said a total of 43 people were involved in the bloody attack.
