Detention for a suspected pickpocket – Gelnhausen

(aa) Police officers provisionally arrested two suspected pickpockets on Tuesday afternoon. The 37 and 38-year-old men are said to have stolen a senior citizen’s purse from her jacket around 12:15 p.m. in Weißkirchenweg in the parking lot of a supermarket when she was storing her purchases. The suspects are said to have driven a car to the nearest bank and withdrawn money with the bank cards of those affected. Shortly thereafter, as part of the search measures initiated, police officers were able to locate the suspect’s car on Autobahn 66, guide it to a nearby parking lot for the purpose of checking it and finally arrest the two men for the time being. The criminal police took over the further investigation. One of the two suspects, a Romanian citizen with no permanent residence in Germany, was brought before the magistrate on Wednesday at the request of the Hanau public prosecutor’s office because he is suspected of having committed other thefts. The magistrate of the Hanau district court issued the pre-trial arrest warrant as requested, so that the suspect is now in the prison. The second suspect, who is suspected of being an accessory, was released after all criminal investigation measures had been completed.
