Police report two men killed in Prince George’s shootings

Police reported the deaths of two men in separate shootings in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The first event occurred on Saturday night and the second at dawn this Sunday.

The last: Authorities reported the discovery of a man with a gunshot wound around 11:50 p.m. Saturday outside a home in the 6800 block of Cherryfield Road, after a shooting was reported there. The victim died at the scene.

  • The site of the first occurrence is a residential street in the Fort Washington area, south of Brinkley Road.
  • At around 4:00 am on Sunday, police reported that a man had entered a hospital with gunshot wounds. He died shortly after.
  • Police said they set up a crime scene in the 4500 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland in connection with the second incident.

And now that…?: Police are investigating the two murders. No further details were immediately available. The two shootings came after another man was found shot to death in the parking lot of a South Laurel mall on Saturday afternoon.

  • There is no indication or immediate relationship between the three events recorded in the last 24 hours in the county.
