Police remove drunk cyclists from traffic

As the police reports, two drunken cyclists caused incidents in Ludwigslust and Dobbertin on Saturday afternoon.

Man arrested after short pursuit

Because of his conspicuous driving style and a near-accident, the officers wanted to stop and check a 50-year-old cyclist in Ludwigslust at around 12 o’clock. After the man tried to evade the check, the police were able to catch him at the town church after a short pursuit. Since an alcohol test showed a value of 2.7 per mille, a blood sample was taken from the Bulgarian.

At around 1:50 p.m. there was a minor collision between a bicycle and a car on the B192 near Dobbertin. According to current information, a 50-year-old e-bike rider ignored a right-of-way sign at an intersection. He collided with a slow-moving car and fell over, sustaining minor injuries. In this case, too, a blood sample was taken, which showed a value of 3.45 per mille.

Both men are now being investigated for drunk driving.
