No one knows who drove Mina (16)

The driver who hit Mina (16) in a pedestrian crossing in Oslo on Sunday evening, fled the scene.

Mina’s mother Ida Skoglund had not been informed of the charge when VG contacted her on Thursday evening.

– It is so good! Great that the person volunteered, it was very nice. I don’t know what to say, I was completely put off, she says to VG.

She immediately shared the news with her daughter.

– We were so happy and gave each other a hug, says Skoglund.

– One wishes that this had happened at an earlier time. But if the person has signed up, we are satisfied. It means a lot because people shouldn’t get away with running over people and running away, she says.

Getting better

Mina is still bedridden with a concussion after the collision, but her condition is still like “night and day” compared to last week, according to Skoglund.

– The doctors have said she will not have any permanent ones, but the wounds are starting to heal and the swelling has gone down. So this is going to go really well.

– Even though she is on the road to recovery, it made an impression to be hit. She hasn’t been out of doors much yet, so we can hope that things will get better over time. But now we have peace of mind, when we know it is in the hands of the police.

Mina herself does not want to give her last name in this case. She does not have the same surname as her mother.

Investigating further

Police attorney Kybo Neslandm says that the police are still investigating the case.

– The police are still working to secure technical evidence, including questioning witnesses who either saw or were near the area at the time of the incident.

The police do not wish to comment further on the matter due to the investigation.
