Headquarters gambling online in an apartment in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta (Jakbar) was raided by the police. 24 suspected perpetrators were arrested.
The Cengkareng Police Chief, Kompol Ardhie Demastyo, said that the raid began with reports from residents who were aware of online gambling practices in several units in the apartment.
“From there, we and the criminal team went straight to the location and secured 7 apartment units in City Park, there were 24 people,” Ardhie said in an official statement received by detik.com, Sunday (15/1/2023).
According to Ardhie, the 24 alleged perpetrators had different roles. One of them is an operator that operates four online gambling sites using computers and laptops.
“Meanwhile, the information we got (from the 24 alleged perpetrators) was that some of them became operators because they were invited by friends who had already become online gambling operators there,” he said.
The police are still investigating the case. Including ascertaining whether the online gambling network is the same as the previous disclosure or not.
For this reason, Ardhie admits that he will be the boss in disclosing the case.
“While we are still investigating and we are still trying to find him (the boss) again,” he concluded.
