Police raids Kampung Ambon, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, regarding the alleged drug abuse. Dozens of people were secured in the raid.
“We have secured several findings. We have data that we have secured about 50 people,” said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo when contacted. detikcom, Saturday (8/5/2021).
The raids that were carried out today followed up on reports of the public feeling uneasy about the activities in Kampung Ambon. In total there are hundreds of joint personnel who have been deployed by the police.
“We responded quickly to the information and then we operated a joint police and police operation consisting of the Narcotics, Brimob, and West Jakarta Police. We had 555 joint personnel,” said Ady.

Apart from securing 50 people, a number of evidence was also confiscated by the police. This evidence starts from sharp weapons to narcotics.
“So there are dozens of shelters and weights, two homemade guns with five live bullets. Three airsoft gun. Then there is marijuana and crystal methamphetamine, whose numbers we are counting, “said Ady.
“Then we found a lot of bongs. There were three air rifles, then several bottles of liquor. We also dismantled the sheds whose information they often used were narcotics,” continued Ady.
The fifty people have now been arrested at the West Jakarta Metro Police. Until now, the police are still investigating these dozens of people. According to Ady, his party will sort out which dozens of people are related to drug cases to cases of possession of firearms.
“What is certain is that we will secure these 50 locations where there is drug abuse. Later we will sort it out with Detective, if it is not related to drugs but related to investigators, they will be processed. We are studying for our respective roles,” concluded Ady.
