JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Deputy General Secretary and Legal Counsel for FPI, Aziz Yanuar, reminded the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front, Rizieq Shihab, that he had appealed to sympathizers not to attend his examination next week.
This is to prevent the re-occurrence of crowds amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Orders of HRS (Rizieq) to avoid and not crowd and please maintain health protocols wherever they are,” said Aziz when contacted, Saturday (12/5/2020).
Rizieq Shihab is scheduled to be questioned by the police regarding the violation of the health protocol that occurred in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, November 14, 2020.

Rizieq will undergo examination as a witness at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) Polda Metro Jaya, Monday (7/12/2020).
At present, said Aziz, FPI hopes that sympathizers will continue to guard the case that dragged its leader.
“We hope, let’s guard this legal process so that it is fair and dignified, please pray,” said Aziz.
Rizieq’s summons was the second time after he was not present on Tuesday (12/1/2020).
Aziz said Rizieq Shihab’s absence to meet the police summons was not because he was absent from the violation of health protocol cases that dragged his name.
However, Aziz said, the call has been represented by him as a legal force.
“This is not absent, he is not absent. He is represented by us by the FPI legal aid team,” said Aziz at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday.
Aziz explained that Rizieq’s absence from the Polda Metro Jaya as a witness was due to health reasons which forced him to rest.
“The reason is still resting, related to last Saturday just leaving the Ummi Hospital, Bogor after resting there. This means that it is still in the recovery stage,” he said.
According to Aziz, the investigators who scheduled to examine Rizieq had already conveyed and accepted this reason.
“Humanity and health reasons related to the fulfillment of Habib Rizieq Syihab’s condition. Therefore we would like to thank the police,” he said.
However, the police denied this statement, claiming Rizieq’s absence was without clear reasons.
