A police pursuit on the Jelle Posthumapad ended tonight in a crash of the car being pursued. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.
According to a police spokesman, officers encountered the car on the A9 and noticed that the driver was ‘showing dangerous driving behaviour’. To see what was going on, they gave the stop sign. At that moment, the driver of the car pressed the accelerator further.
The officers decided to give chase. They were assisted by a police helicopter.
Ambulance and fire brigade
The pursuit ended just before 9 p.m. on the Jelle Postumapad in Zuidoost, because the car being pursued crashed. The driver has been arrested. He did not need to be checked by the alerted paramedics. In addition, the fire brigade was called to extinguish the car, which caused a lot of smoke from the crash.
