Police Propose Suspension of Detention for Widowed Mother with Five Children in South Nias, Jakarta

Jakarta –

The police proposed a suspension of detention for Erlina Zebua, a widow with five children who was detained by the District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) South Nias (Nisel). Erlina was arrested for the persecution of a neighbor.

Nisel Police Chief AKBP Reinhard Nainggolan is ready to guarantee the suspension.

“I, as the Nisel Police Chief, am ready to become a guarantor so that the (detention) of defendant EZ (Erlina) can be suspended,” said AKBP Reinhard, as quoted detikSumatraMonday (22/5/2023).

Reinhard said the suspension of detention was so Erlina could take care of her five children. Moreover, this case went viral after five of her children cried, left by their mother to undergo legal proceedings.

He also said that currently two of Erlina’s five children are sick. The two of them have now been taken to the South Nias Police clinic for treatment.

“We had a guest earlier from Mrs. EZ’s child. After we saw her condition, it turned out that two of EZ’s five children were sick with fever. Currently, both of them are being treated at the South Nias Police clinic to receive intensive care,” he explained.
