Police Propam Member Dies After Shooting At Police Headquarters Official House

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A member of the police who is seconded in Division Profession and Security (Propam) Police, Brigadier J, reportedly died after a shootout.

This was confirmed by the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan.

“It’s true that it happened on Friday 8 July 2022. At approximately 17 or 5 pm,” said Ramadhan at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (11/7/2022).

Ramadhan has not been able to confirm the detailed position of Brigadier J who was the victim of death.

“Obviously (brigadier J) personnel from Bareskrim, but later assigned to Propam, don’t know if they are adjutant or what, but they are seconded to Propam,” said Ramadhan.

Ramadhan explained that the incident began when Brigadier J entered the house of a police official at the Duren Tiga Office Housing, South Jakarta.

Then, another member on behalf of Bharada E rebuked him. Then, Brigadier J was mentioned brandishing a gun, and doing shooting.

“And Bharada E certainly dodged, and returned fire on Brigadier J,” he said.

As a result of the shooting, Brigadier J died.

Ramadhan emphasized that currently the case is being investigated by the Propam Police Headquarters and the South Jakarta Police.

Meanwhile, the shooter, Bharada E, has been arrested.

“The body has also been taken to his family in Jambi and Bharada E has been secured for further processing,” he said.
