Police prepare traffic engineering to anticipate demonstration a number of online motorcycle taxi driver alliances (ojol) at the Horse Statue, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (5/1).
Head of Traffic at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Purwanta, said the road closures and traffic engineering were still situational.
“We are still tentative, if a transfer is needed, we will transfer it. But if not, it’s still normal as usual,” said Purwanta when contacted, Wednesday (5/1).
Several road sections that will be diverted include Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Merdeka Selatan, to Patung Kuda.
Purwanta said the ojol demonstration was held at 08.00 WIB and was attended by 850 people.
“There are 850 participants registered, from ojol, there is only one alliance, there are only groups,” said Purwanta.
Furthermore, Purwanta said that until now the traffic flow around the Horse Statue is still normal.
“It’s still safe now, safe,” Purwanta concluded.
