Police Patrols Armed and Searching for Man with Handgun in Larvik Area

ØP has so far not made contact with the police, while ØP’s freelance photographer Geir Eriksen could say that five police patrols moved out to Frankendalsveien in Larvik at 11.30pm on 17 May.

They have armed themselves, says Eriksen.

The patrols at the site were wearing both visors and bulletproof vests.

The police inform on Twitter that they are looking for a man in the Byskogen area who, according to a witness, is said to have been seen with a handgun.

– The man has not acted threateningly, writes the operations center on Twitter.

According to Geir Eriksen, the police ended the operation just before midnight. The police at the scene informed him that they had only received one observation so far, and that after an initial operation they are now moving to regular patrolling in the area.

The action attracted attention in the immediate area, several of the police patrols parked in the middle of the road and several spectators passed the area several times.

The police operations center has not answered any of ØP’s calls on Wednesday evening.

The case will be updated as soon as we have anything more
