“The game became more heated”
Thomas Muellercoach of the Siemser A-Youth team, said: “The referee made a lot of wrong decisions. This made the game more heated and both teams insulted each other. The game was then abandoned. We left the referee alone for a while. I told one of my players to apologize to the referee, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. The referee was scared and left the field with the police.”
“A lot of ranting”
Fortuna-Coach Christian Teckenburg said the following: “It was a completely normal game from us. Siems kicked a lot. In the end, several players were sent off. There was a lot of shouting and after Siems’ second red card, every decision made by the referee was discussed. When the score was seven or eight to one for us, the game was abandoned. The Siems players are said to have waited for the referee in the corridor. So he left the field with the police.”
“Call came in”
When asked by HL-SPORTS, the Lübeck police confirmed that they had been called. “We received a call saying that the referee had been threatened. However, no criminal offenses were committed.”
