A bank robbery triggered a major police operation in downtown Berlin. According to the police, several masked perpetrators armed with irritant gas on the corner of Leipziger Strasse and Friedrichstrasse are said to have robbed a bank on Monday.
According to the police, they should have sprayed irritant gas in the branch and demanded money. The act took place around 1:15 p.m.
33 people were slightly injured by the irritant gas, the fire department said. However, they could all be looked after on an outpatient basis.

The police temporarily blocked off the surrounding streets, and in the afternoon the area around the bank was still blocked. The criminal police are investigating.
