Police open up about alleged sex crimes in former NCT Taeil

Bangbae Police Station confirmed that they are investigating a case of sexual crimes involving hacking Taeil former member NCT.

The police also denied that the alleged sexual offenses involved minors.

“This investigation is not related to the investigation of sexual crimes against youth of the same gender (as Taeil),” said a statement from the Bangbae Police Station, quoted by Chosun Ilbo, on Wednesday (28/8).

In addition, the Chief of Bangbae Police Station, Choi Young-ki, also briefly mentioned the sex crime case involving Taeil, a former NCT.

Young-ki said he wasn’t in the office so he couldn’t talk much about the matter.

Previously, SM Entertainment announced that Taeil had been kicked out of NCT following allegations of sexual offenses involving him. However, the agency did not reveal details of the sex crime case.

“This is SM Entertainment. We have recently confirmed that Taeil is involved in a criminal case related to sexual crimes,” wrote the SM Entertainment agency, Wednesday (28/8).

“When we looked at the situation, we realized that the problem was very serious, and we decided that Taeil could not continue with the group’s activities,” he continued.

Additionally, SM Entertainment confirmed that Taeil is currently under police investigation regarding this matter. The group confirmed that the 30-year-old idol was obedient and cooperative during the investigation.

“Taeil is currently fully cooperating with the police investigation. We will provide more information as the investigation progresses,” SM Entertainment said in an official statement on Wednesday (28/8).

“We apologize for the inconvenience and inconvenience caused to our artists,” the statement continued.

SM Entertainment fired Taeil immediately after he was suspected of involvement in a sex crime case. The agency decided to expel the man whose full name is Moon Tae-il after investigating the matter and assessing the situation as serious.

“As we investigated the facts of this case, we realized how serious the situation was and decided that Taeil could no longer continue his work with the team. [NCT],” said SM Entertainment.

“After speaking with Taeil, we have decided that he will be expelled from the group,” the group continued.
