Jakarta –
Viral video tag of church aid on a relief tent delivered to District earthquake victims Cianjur, West Java, has removed a number of people. Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan said that the removal of this tag was done by a community organization (ormas) in Cianjur Regency.
“It was carried out by one of the mass organizations. The information was in four points, including the evacuation posts in Mangunkerta, Sarapad and two other points,” said Doni, reported detikjabarSaturday (11/26/2022).
However, Doni said refugees and mass organizations have not refused the assistance provided. It is said that the mass organizations have only removed the labels from the tents.
He said the revocation of this label was not an act of intolerance. According to Doni, this was done so that the assistance provided would not highlight any particular group, but on a humanitarian basis.
“So it needs to be emphasized that this is not an act of intolerance. People are still using the tents, they are not being turned away. Only the stickers or labels have been removed,” he said.
“This is done so that everything is neutral, acting in the name of humanity, not highlighting certain groups,” he added.
A row of blue tents with paper writing attached to the roof of the tent is known to be seen in the viral video. A man’s voice was also heard saying that the tents were in remote areas Cianjur.
Next, the video shows a number of people dismantling the ‘Action Team for the Indonesian Evangelical Reformed Church’ sign that was attached to the roof of the tent. The curtains remained standing.
