Officials of the Criminal Police Division of the Madona District of the Vidzeme Region Administration of the State Police (VP) have managed to liquidate two marijuana farms in the Madona area, Zane Vaskāne, a senior specialist of the Vidzeme Region Administration, informed LETA.
Three people have been detained on suspicion of committing a criminal offense.
Officials of the Criminal Police Division of the Madona District of the Vidzeme Regional Police Department, performing professional and systematic work in connection with the fight against illicit drug trafficking, opened two marijuana farms in the Madona area and Vestiena parish on July 7, Vaskāne pointed out.
A total of 15 “marijuana-like plants” were removed as a result of the search. Also, 110 grams of partially dried marijuana and 7.57 grams of dried marijuana were removed. In turn, 14 dried plants were removed from one of the addresses, the composition and quantity of which will be specified in the examination. One person was detained on suspicion of committing a criminal offense.
Continuing the work on combating drug trafficking, on July 8, a drug, namely marijuana, was found on a property, which was stored for sale. A total of 58.44 grams were removed. The fact of marijuana sales has also been established. Two persons were detained on suspicion of committing a criminal offense.
Activities are qualified according to Section 253.1, Paragraph one, Section 253, Paragraph one, Section 256, Paragraph one, Section 253.2, Paragraph one of the Criminal Law. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing in the police.
