NEW YORK — A little baby is miraculously alive after police officers saved his life in the Bronx.
It all started on Wednesday morning, September 6, when the mother of the baby, who was born premature, went to the crib to breastfeed him as usual, but on this occasion it seemed that he was not breathing. It was at that moment that they called 9-1-1 for help.
Officers Orlando Bryan and Derick Dilone arrived at the scene and when they saw that the paramedics had not arrived, they began performing CPR (RCP) in a fight against the clock.
“We received a call that a baby was not breathing,” said uniformed Dilone. “I ran up and when I arrived I grabbed the baby and started doing CPR,” he added.
The officer’s body cameras recorded the entire moment.
“I put him on a table and with my fingers I did CPR, but it was not complete yet because he was not crying, the ambulance was not there yet, so, we are going to take the baby to the hospital ourselves, we picked him up, but when We arrived at the first floor, the ambulance was there,” said Dilone.
The child’s mother thanked the police for saving her son in a miraculous act.
The little boy is expected to recover soon and be released from the hospital.
