The two police officers from the Fifth Regional Office in Plovdiv, who were detained on suspicion of a bribe of sausages and steaks taken from themhave been released on bail, BNT reported.
Georgi Matanski and Gruyu Grigorov were in custody for 72 hourswhich expired today.
According to information from the District Prosecutor’s Office, the amounts for which they were released are BGN 5,000 and BGN 3,000.
Those arrested a few days ago during an “Internal Security” operation in Plovdiv are from the uniformed staff of the “Security Police”. They were being monitored on suspicion of illegal fuel trading, but during that time they were also caught receiving bribes in the form of bags of food products, mainly sausages and steaks.
After their detention, the home and garage of Matanski, who lives in a luxury apartment complex, were searched.
