A luxury house in Lampung which was used as a shelter for 24 victims of the criminal act of trafficking in persons (TIP) allegedly belonged to members of the Police. The case is currently being investigated by Propam Polda Lampung.
“There is information related to allegations that the house of a member of the National Police was used as a transit point as a TIP, currently the Propam Polda Lampung is still investigating,” Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Thursday (8/6/2023).
He is also still exploring this information. More information will be provided later.
“Later, when there is information, we will convey it. So the information related to this matter is still being investigated,” he said.
He said that the National Police was seriously handling the TIP case. The TIP Task Force, according to him, has moved to take action on the cases experienced by many migrant workers.
“Once again I say, the National Police is committed and serious in dealing with TIP. As I said yesterday, the Police have formed TIP Task Force chaired by Wakabareskrim. In all Polda, a Task Force on TIP has been formed. Several regions have carried out actions at the Central Java Regional Police,” he added.
Police Officer Luxury House Accommodates TIP Victims
Previously, the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Lampung Police installed police line in a house that was used as a shelter for 24 NTB residents who were victims of TIP. The house turned out to belong to a middle-ranking police officer.
Investigate a calibaration, the house is suspected to belong to a middle-ranking officer with the rank of AKBP with the initials L. L is currently serving at the National Police Headquarters.
Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Helmy Santika also confirmed that the house belonged to AKBP L. According to Helmy, currently officers are still conducting an investigation into L.

The police are investigating the reasons why 24 NTB residents related to the TIP case were at the house.
“Investigations are being carried out regarding how they got to the house,” he continued.
