Police officers hacked their Facebook account and then blackmailed the man

Caaguazú: A senior police officer’s Facebook account was apparently hacked. Then the man was blackmailed on the basis of his friends list. Not an isolated case, there should be more victims, say the investigators in the area.

The incident happened on Saturday, January 30th. Claudio Cesar Silguero Lugo, 42, a high-ranking officer in the Caaguazú Regional Criminal Investigation Department, was the victim in the case and ignored the alleged perpetrator.

According to a police report, Silguero received a call from a male voice asking for cash to return his Facebook account, but the victim refused.

From that moment on, the social network was used to demand money from its contacts. More than one person sent Lugo inquiries about the alleged transactions. In the same way, Lugo posted warnings to various groups and police associations about his allegedly hacked Facebook account.

According to the investigators in the case, there should be more victims with such an approach.
