Police Officers Caught Playing Pokémon Go on Duty: Ignored Robbery Calls

Some police officers decided that they were going to “catch them all”, but unfortunately they were not referring to the thieves who were on the run. Read more details, here!

Do you remember the golden age of Pokémon Go, when tons of people went out to catch bugs? This era that was crazy everywhere made even the police become fanatical. This particular case involves two Los Angeles officers who went so crazy that they ignored calls to drive and play Pokémon Go while on duty.

The 2017 video came to light now in 2023, published by 404media following a public records request and shows the car stopped and then driven erratically. The agents completely ignore the radio calls but run to catch a Snorlax and then a Togeticthe evolved form of Togepi.

The two police officers chat quietly about capturing Pokémon while, in the background, radio calls are heard. One of them is a request for reinforcements for a shopping center where a robbery is taking place. Both officers were later fired.

The extended version of the video includes a discussion between the officials about the Master Ball, and a conversation about whether the game would ever include it, which it eventually did. What’s more, there are even cries of “I’ve got it” when they catch one of the rarest ones.

In the end it wasn’t so bad that our security forces kicked Pikachu out of the airport…
