A police officer was transported to the hospital Sunday after being bitten by a dog in Brooklyn, but is expected to survive, authorities announced.
According to the police report, the incident occurred around 8:09 pm at 3506 Neptune. The police officer would have shot the dog, according to the police.
However, officials did not disclose how many dogs were involved and the circumstances behind the attack. It is also not known if the canine or canines were with their owner, where they were injured and what breed they are.
The uniformed man was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Congresswoman Inna Vernikov wrote on her Twitter account that the officer had been bitten in the head and had shot two dogs. However, authorities have not confirmed where the officer was injured and the number of dogs.
