A police officer in the Frisian town of Drachten was attacked and stabbed by a man with a knife on Sunday evening. The suspect was subsequently shot by the police.
The police officer arrived after a report of domestic violence at a house on the Nachtegaalstraat, after which he was attacked by the man.
The stabbed police officer and shot suspect have been transferred to the hospital. It is not yet known how serious their injuries are.
