A Yonkers police officer was shot and taken to Jacobi Medical Center, according to sources.
Yonkers Mayor’s spokesman Mike Spano confirmed Wednesday that an officer was being transported to the hospital.
A law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the case said the shooting occurred near Elm and Linden streets.
The officer’s condition and where exactly he was shot was not immediately clear.
