Jakarta –
Member of the Central Lampung Police, Aiptu Supriyanto, returned a passenger bag containing IDR 100 million in cash at a toilet rest area at KM 116 A Trans Sumatra Toll Road, Central Lampung. Kompolnas praised the actions of Aiptu Supriyanto.
“Kompolnas really appreciates what Aiptu Supriyanto did. While performing his duties, he found a passenger’s bag left in the rest area, and immediately secured the bag, checked with other officers, and returned the bag intact, which turned out to 100 million in cash and other things to the owner,” Kompolnas Commissioner Poengky Indarti told journalists, Monday (15/4/2024).
Poengky said that his party greatly appreciates the honesty and integrity of Aiptu Supriyanto. He also appreciated how attentive First Inspector Supriyanto was in performing his duties.
“Of course, at the height of the return and return home flows, the situation is in a hurry, so people who go home for Eid are sometimes tired, so they do not realize that they have left their belongings in public areas,” he said.
According to Poengky, officers’ awareness and precision in checking rest areas and providing advice to the public is extremely important. But, he said, what is more important is a person’s honesty and integrity when they see someone else’s things left behind, to return them to their owners immediately.
“This honesty is a criterion for the security and comfort of a country, especially if foreign tourists want to visit it,” said Poengky.
Poengky hopes that travelers will take good care of their belongings, so that nothing is left behind or lost. He also hopes that First Inspector Supriyanto and other members of the National Police who are responsible for the Eid Homecoming Security Ketupat operation will be given health, so that they can perform their duties to the best of their ability.
It is known that the incident took place on Sunday (14/4/2024) around 07.00 WIB. At that time, the rest area was busy with travelers taking a break.
First Inspector Supriyanto was initially on foot patrol and at the same time giving advice to travelers in the other area. He then found a bag in the toilet rest area.
When he found the bag, First Inspector Supriyanto did not want to open it himself. He took it to the post office to be checked by security officers and the rest area cleaning service. There was money in the bag.
“When it was opened, there was money in denominations worth about Rp. 100 million. In addition, there were valuables in the form of a cell phone, a passport and a wallet containing the identity of the owner, ” said the Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police Regional Agency, Commissioner Umi Fadilah in his statement, Monday (15/4/2024).
“Our members immediately rushed to announce using the TOA of the mosque in the local rest area, which the owner of the bag heard,” he continued.
Aiptu Supriyanto also made a call through the phone history of the cell phone he found. After a while, Aiptu Supriyanto met Sukisno, who was only the owner of the bag.
