NEW YORK – An NYPD officer was shot in the leg on Wednesday in Brooklyn, two law enforcement sources familiar with the case said.
Police officers were responding to a call about a domestic problem Avenue of the Gatesat an address attached to a six-story apartment building around 9 a.m. when they exchanged fire with the suspect, the sources said.
The injured officer was taken to hospital and is expected to recover. It is unclear whether the suspect was injured.
No further details have been released.
