A police officer from the anti-crime brigade of Nîmes (Gard) was hit by a bullet in the night from Friday to Saturday, marked by significant urban violence linked to protests against the death of young Nahel.
According to a police source, the official thought he had received “a stone” on Friday evening while he was on a security mission in the Pissevin district of Nîmes. But it was not until the next day that he realized that the shock felt was not linked to a throwing of a stone but to a projectile. The warhead would be a 9mm caliber bullet.
“He thought he had been hit by a cobblestone,” explains Marc Stolarzyc, of the Alliance police union, to France Blue, but at the end of his service, he noticed an impact on his bulletproof vest which was not crossed. He has bruises on his abdomen but his life is not in danger. »
