“Police Officer Bitten by Malinois in Animal Abuse Investigation in Sarcelles”

They had received a call reporting a possible case of animal abuse in Sarcelles (Val d’Oise). Monday April 24, 2023, it was around 8 p.m. when the police arrived in front of the home of the individual in question, route de Flandres.

The man opens to officials who immediately smell ustrong smell of excrement emanate from the apartment. Stepping onto the doorstep, the suspect is surrounded by six malinois.

One hand bitten

Members of law enforcement ask him to back off his dogs when one of them bites a policeman in the hand. With a deep wound, the latter was taken care of by the firefighters and transported to Sos-mains emergencies at the Conti clinicin L’Isle-Adam.

On entering the apartment, his colleagues found animal waste in all the rooms and discovered about twenty cats.

The 27-year-old resident was arrested and taken into custody following the assault by one of his dogs on the police officer.

Open investigation

While all the animals were left on site for the night, they were to be picked up on Tuesday by the competent services. An investigation has, moreover, been opened to establish whether the respondent was the author of animal abuse or not.
