Police not in cassation against claim for shot man | Inland

On May 31, 2015, Jonnathan was shot by a police officer in Susteren. Wrongly, as it turned out. Jonnathan was in a psychotic state that day, but had not committed any criminal offenses. The agent involved was released from all prosecution on the basis of emergency.

The resident of Sittard then started a civil procedure, in which the court in The Hague decided to hold the police liable for all damage. “The insurer must now determine the damage,” says a police spokeswoman. “We think it is important that this process is properly completed.”
