(jm) After a traffic accident on Friday morning in the street “Diebacher Weg” between an Audi and a rail vehicle, fortunately everyone involved remained uninjured. Around half past seven, a 50-year-old Audi driver was on the road “Diebacher Weg” in the direction of Martin-Luther-King-Strasse. According to initial findings, a rail vehicle approaching from the right was approaching the level crossing (Breslauer Straße) at low speed. In the further course of the search, a patrol crew found the wanted VW Golf parked on Bertha-von-Suttner-Weg at the edge of the tram. An initial survey confirmed the suspicion that the 31-year-old man was the get-away driver. A voluntary breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.15 per mille, which is why a blood sample was then taken at the police station by a doctor called in. In addition, the officials ensured the driver’s license of the Maintaler.
