(lei) Serious traffic accident late Monday afternoon in Großkrotzenburg: A 51-year-old scooter driver suffered serious injuries and had to be flown to a hospital with a rescue helicopter.

The man from Kahl am Main was driving his three-wheeled scooter on Lindenstrasse at around 4:20 p.m., coming from the direction of Waitzweg in the direction of Max-Planck-Strasse, when he collided with an oncoming 18-year-old polo driver at the Lindenstrasse / Goethestrasse intersection. According to the first findings of the police, the woman from Großkrotzenburg wanted to turn left at the intersection into Goethestrasse, apparently overlooking the scooter driver. The 18-year-old was also injured in the collision; she also came to a nearby clinic with minor injuries.

Significant damage was caused to both vehicles, which officials estimate at a total of 8,000 euros. An expert who was called to the scene of the accident should now clarify the exact course of the accident. For this purpose, both vehicles were seized by order of the Hanau public prosecutor’s office.
