Police make short work of cross-driver: bus and driver’s license lost | Utrecht

Officers saw the 37-year-old driver from Ede winding through the Rondweg-West in Veenendaal in the night from Friday to Saturday. When the van was pulled over and the window opened, the officers immediately met a strong smell of alcohol.

However, the driver did not want to cooperate in a breath test under any circumstances. He also refused to obey the order to do a breath analysis at the police station. Not smart this behavior, said the officers. Not only does it result in a severe penalty, but the driver’s license was immediately recovered as a result. However, because the Edenaar did not have that document with him, the agents took the van into custody and then had it towed away.

The man will eventually get the car back, but not before he has paid the towing and storage costs and handed in his driver’s license.
