Police Launch Extensive Search for Missing Man from Institution

A man (62) is missing from an institution. The police received a report at 8pm that the man had not returned at the agreed time.

The missing persons were last seen in the area of ​​Landåsveien south of Bergen at approximately 1800, according to a press release from the police.

Extensive search operation

On the night of Sunday, BA was present when search crews investigated a larger area on Landås.

Over 50 volunteers from the Red Cross, Norwegian People’s Aid Sanitet and Norwegian Rescue Dogs are participating in the search together with the police.

Volunteers walked along the streets and lit lights, but also looked in bushes and gardens looking for missing people.

In consultation with the man’s guardian, the police have published a description of the man:

  • 190 centimeters tall and slim build.
  • Bald with white hair on the sides of his head, and wears glasses.
  • The missing person can be identified by a particular gait.
  • He should be wearing a gray knitted jumper over a shirt, dark chinos, black Ecco shoes, and possibly a dark thin bubble jacket.
