About 4,000 students were present on the campus in Kortrijk today. The students who arrived on campus but had not yet entered the buildings were sent home this morning. “I just arrived at school, but the doors were all closed. I stood there for fifteen minutes and then some students said to me at the window that Vives is in lockdown, because someone would be walking around with some kind of weapon in the buildings “Then the police arrived and they sent me away from the school buildings. Some teachers have already sent an email saying they are suspending their classes for today,” said Shervin Aghajani, a student at Vives College.
“We were in class when we suddenly heard that someone with bad intentions would be walking around the campus,” says student Karel Morlion. “We closed the doors of the classroom, but the lesson continued. But suddenly we were evacuated.”
