In what was the third police-involved shooting in a matter of hours, officers fired at a man who had a gun in his possession who was wounded, according to the police report.
The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. Thursday between the 238th Street and 231st Street subway stations in The Bronx, where officers from the 50th Precinct police station said they saw a man with a gun.

Police received 911 calls from a man waving a gun in a crowd that included children, Police Traffic Chief Michael Kemp said.
According to Kemp, officers arrived at the station and asked the man to hand over the gun, but he refused.
Kemp said the man then began walking south on the train walkway paralleling the train tracks toward the next stop, 231st Street.
Subject was followed by officers heading south from the 238th Street Station and was also eventually hit by other officers walking down the walkway from the 231st Street Station.
The officers continued to order the man to drop the firearm, who reportedly pointed it at the officers on multiple occasions, according to police.
Finally, one of the officers fired after the man pointed the gun at them again, according to the NYPD.
The man was shot in the left hand and was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he is in stable condition.
In the other two armed incidents involving police officers, one killed a 78-year-old man and the other wounded a man.
