Police Investigating Stabbing Involving Minors in Åsane – Attempted Murder Case Under Criminal Minimum Age

At 9pm on Friday, the police went to an address in Åsane, following a report of a stabbing. There were several minors at the address.

– The victim, a minor boy, had suffered a stab wound in the back. The suspect is a minor girl, the West police district said in a press release on Monday.

BA mentioned the stabbing on Friday evening. Operations manager Tore-Andre Brakstad then said that there had been a disagreement between some girls and boys at the site.

Under the criminal minimum age

The case was initially categorized as grievous bodily harm, but has now been changed to attempted murder.

This is because of the injuries to the boy and the location of the stab wounds, the police say.

– Suspects are under the criminal minimum age, and cannot be punished. The police still have a duty to investigate the case. Victims and suspects will be questioned at the Children’s Home.

A solicitor and defense attorney will be appointed. Local police have close contact with the school the people involved attend.

The case is updated.
