(NOTICIAS YA).- San Diego authorities are investigating the arson of a truck in an Otay Mesa neighborhood, an incident caused by another vehicle.
During the early hours of this Friday, an explosion alerted the residents of the 3700 block of Clavelita Street.
It was around 6 a.m. when the San Diego Police Department received reports of a loud explosion in the street.
When the first agents arrived at the scene, they noticed that a truck was engulfed in flames and immediately reported to the Fire Department.
Firefighters managed to put out the flames, but the truck was completely burned inside.
Images from OnScene.TV show the interior of the truck charred, with obvious damage to the steering wheel, dashboard, glass and seats, both front and rear.
Witnesses told investigating officers that they saw a white Honda pull up near the truck, drop something, and then drive away from the scene before the explosive device went off, according to City News Service.
The San Diego Metropolitan Area Fire and Rescue Fire Strike Team was investigating the incident.
