Police Investigate Threat and Assault at Kolumbusplatz in Munich: 17-year-old Girl Threatened with Knife

Munich – Things escalated on Thursday evening at Kolumbusplatz at the foot of Giesinger Berg, a well-known focal point for the drinking and homeless scene.

A girl (17) called the police emergency number around 8:30 p.m. and said she had been threatened with a knife by a young man. Several Munich police patrols rushed to the scene.

There they met several young people, one of whom fled when the police arrived. However, the officers were able to catch him shortly afterwards. It turned out that there had been an argument between the 20-year-old and other young men.

In the course of the dispute there was a shove in which a 17-year-old who lives in Munich was slightly injured. A knife could not be found on any of those involved. After on-site clarifications, everyone was released.

Commissariat 26 (assault crimes) has taken over further investigations into possible threats and bodily harm.
