Police investigate incident outside Venezia restaurant in Førde, Norway

A larger area outside the Venezia restaurant in the center of Førde was cordoned off, but according to what NRK has been informed, the incident has no connection with the restaurant itself.

Both uniformed police and crime scene technicians have been working at the scene throughout the day. A dog patrol has also been brought in to search.

Among other things, the police have gone through rubbish bins and measured distances outside the restaurant. According to what NRK is informed, they have also received images from surveillance cameras in the area.

The police write in a press release on Friday evening that they want to get in touch with witnesses who, during the night to Thursday 6 April, have seen something that may be of interest to the police.

– It is of particular interest for the police to get in touch with a couple who are said to have been in contact with the victim in the case, the police write.

Earlier in the day, the police were very sparse with information, until the press release came at 8.35pm.

The police will not say what answers they have received from the investigations that have been carried out so far.

For the sake of the investigation, the police cannot currently comment on the results of the investigations, they write in the press release.

Witnesses or others who have information that may be of interest are asked to contact the police on 476 96 060.

Police attorney Andreas Foxen Haldorsen says Bergens Tidende that no one has been charged in the case. But he will not answer whether that means the police are looking for an unknown perpetrator.

– I cannot comment on that at the present time, says Haldorsen to the newspaper.

NTB writes that the aggrieved woman has not yet been appointed a lawyer.
