The police in Stockholm have received several reports that an explosion has occurred at a house in Hässelby in the western part of the Swedish capital.
Two people were injured in connection with the explosion, the police wrote in a press release, at around 9.50pm on Monday evening. The degree of seriousness of the injuries is not yet known, according to the police.
The national bomb squad has been called to the scene, and the house has now been evacuated by the rescue service.
– Some kind of explosion has occurred. Unclear what, says Magnus Bengtsson in the rescue service, writes the Swedish newspaper Expressen.
according to information to Aftonbladet, the explosion must have caused major damage in a stairwell and people must have been injured.
Residents in the area say they heard a loud bang in connection with the explosion.
– I heard it, and it sounded like hell. The apartment shook a lot, says a Hässelby resident to Aftonbladet.
Aftonbladet also writes that at least one person will be injured.
– It was a bang, it was really big. It sounded like a bomb, says a neighbor to Expressen.
