The morning of this Thursday, June 8 was hectic for the Niort police. They have been called several times, first because of a burnt out van. The fire was declared at 5:20 a.m. and the police immediately went to the scene, said The New Republic.
No one was in the van when it caught fire. The firefighters extinguished the fire and the police decided to open an investigation to find out the reasons and the origin of this fire.
A suspicious package near the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry college
Later in the morning, the police were called because of a suspicious package, near the Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry college. It was a backpack that had been thrown there by a homeless person.
After the discovery of this suspicious package, a security perimeter was set up to allow the police to open the bag in question. In the end, it didn’t contain anything particularly dangerous.
