Darmstadt (ots) – After a reported brawl between several men, the investigation group City of the Darmstadt police initiated proceedings on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm.
At around 4.30 p.m. on Monday (March 8), the officers were alerted by witnesses and called to Bessunger Strasse. Due to the noise, witnesses noticed the confrontation between men on the street and called the police. According to initial findings, seven men had clashed there for reasons that were not yet known. When the dispute escalated and resulted in a tangible argument in which objects are said to have been used, a 34-year-old Darmstadt suffered injuries to his head. He had to be taken to a hospital for further medical attention. His 33-year-old companion from Eberstadt had slight hand injuries when the police officers arrived. The alleged opponents had already run away by this point in time. As part of the initial investigation and manhunt, these four parties to the dispute reported to the police station a few minutes later. It was a 27-year-old Darmstadt resident with his three 29 to 32-year-old companions from Griesheim and Mainz. Investigations into the background and the question of the cause of the dispute are currently ongoing. The officials are looking for eyewitnesses to continue the investigation.
