French police rushed to a shopping center in the La Defense district of Paris on Saturday, where panic broke out. The police reject rumors that shots were fired.
Police in Paris asked people on Saturday afternoon to avoid staying in the district. Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin shared this message Twitter but the police did not provide any details about the background to the action.
Later Saturday, police said “an incident” sparked panic among the crowd at the mall. But a spokesperson confirms that no shots were fired, as some claimed on social media.
An unnamed investigative source says BFM TV that people started running because of the sound of a person hitting the floor after falling several floors.
