In the early morning of Sunday, January 29, 2023, a mixed unit of the Surinamese police acted against supermarket holders at two locations on Pater Weidmanstraat.

The supermarkets at Pater Weidmanstraat no. 90 and no. 56 were still open to the public at around 02:00 in the morning. At no. 90, there appeared to be a huge crowd of motorists in the vicinity of the shopkeeper, which caused serious noise nuisance.

The police removed the group of disruptors from the place. The shopkeepers’ permits will be forwarded to the District Commissioner and the wnd. Attorney General with an official report.

The police have often been confronted with complaints about these supermarkets that are open to the public until late after closing time. As a result, many people “hang” in the vicinity.

The shock group also acted against disruptors on Wilhelminastraat.

The police warn disruptors and those who cause noise nuisance. Your entertainment must not cause a nuisance to the local residents. The troublemakers have been warned!
