Police Interrogate 13 Years Old Teenager, Boat Driver Overturned in Kedung Ombo

BOYOLALI, KOMPAS.TV – A tourist boat with 20 passengers in the Kedung Ombo Reservoir, Boyolali, Central Java, capsized, killing 6 people.

Police are still examining witnesses, including the teenage boat driver.

The teenage age of the boat driver was revealed by the statement of the Boyolali Police Chief, AKBP Morry Ermond.

“The captain of the boat, GH’s initials, is 13 years old,” said Morry while reviewing the evacuation process at the Kedung Ombo reservoir, Saturday (15/5/2021).

“This skipper is still under investigation,” added Morry Tribunnews.

At the time of the incident, the 13-year-old teenager was accompanying 20 visitors to the reservoir to a floating food stall.
