Police intercept 600,000 euro champagne heist in Pontault-Combault

According to the newspaper “Le Parisien”, the criminals, who had stolen the goods in Reims (Marne) on the night of Friday 10 to Saturday 11 November and who were on board two 38-ton trucks, managed to escape. No injuries were reported.

A driver jumps from his truck

He was immediately “recovered” by accomplices traveling in a BMW. A police officer finally managed to get into the truck and immobilize it.

The driver of the other heavy goods vehicle also managed to defeat the police when leaving the Francilienne abruptly. His vehicle, deserted, but still loaded with bottles of champagne, was found near the Brico Dépôt store, in Pontault-Combault.
